Greenview FoundationThe Greenview Foundation was incorporated in 2006 as a 501C(3) charity in the state of Michigan. It was started by Debbie and Ted Green with the long term goal of raising awareness and money for medical research in areas that are currently under-funded. Hepatitis C FundThe first project of the Greenview Foundation is the Hepatitis C Fund, whose purpose is to advance medical research at the University of Michigan hospitals to help find a cure or better treatment for Hepatitis C. This funding will act as seed money for the researchers to test a concept and then apply for a federal grant to fully research the concept. This seed money is important because existing grant money generally cannot be used to test new concepts. Each $10,000 donation is sufficient to test a new concept and therefore such modest amounts can have a real impact. The fund's goal of donating the first $10,000 was realized in December of 2007. The goal for 2008 is to donate $50,000, enough to seed and start five new research projects. While these amounts may seem very modest, government funding of Hepatitis C research is so low that these amounts will have a significant impact. Many to ThankWe would like to thank all the wonderful people who contributed recipes, proofreading, art work, emotional support, medical information, advertising, and legal and financial backing.
